2025: Scale up fundraise by industrial valve & regulator technology innovator

Kinetix advised Oxford Flow, a designer and manufacturer of groundbreaking pressure valve technology, on its USD25 million Series C funding round led by bp Ventures and Energy Impact Partners. The financing will enable Oxford Flow to scale up its operations.
Founded by Professor Thomas Povey in 2015, Oxford Flow is a spin-out of the Oxford Thermofluids Institute (OTI), which is an internationally renowned facility for aerospace solutions for jets and rockets at the University of Oxford.
The Company’s technology has no mechanical drive train, stem or diaphragm, mitigating failure modes and leak paths, and helping to address some of the challenges faced by the energy sector, including improving valve reliability, reducing maintenance costs, and minimising fugitive emissions.
bp Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of bp, and has invested over USD1 billion in technology companies accelerating innovation across bp’s transition growth engines. Energy Impact Partners is a global technology investor with over USD4 billion assets under management investing in companies powering the energy transition.
Neil Poxon, CEO of Oxford Flow, commented: “Since our inception at the OTI at the University of Oxford, we have been all about creating solutions for the energy sector… With this recent investment we look forward to expanding our team and production capacity, and most importantly, exploring ways Oxford Flow can help the industry reduce fugitive emissions.”
Ray Barrett, partner, said: “Oxford Flow is a fantastic industrial deep tech business. The fundraise is an endorsement of all that Management has achieved thus far. It should be an exciting next few years. We wish the Company all the very best in the next stage of its development.”
