July 2021: Kinetix Corporate Finance has advised its client Unwasted Ltd on the close of a multi-million pound funding round with Danish investors to enable the business to scale rapidly around the world. Unwasted has now initiated production of the world’s first high-performance panel board made entirely from waste in a true circular economy process.
A pilot manufacturing plant in Deeside, North Wales (UK), is now complete and enables production of Unwasted’s patented fibre-based construction board, Neverwasteᵀᴹ, for use in all areas of construction across Europe’s leading manufacturers of furniture, flooring, doors, and interior construction products.
Investment from an SPV funded by some of Denmark’s most successful industrialists now combines with substantial sums already invested by the founders, UK private investors, and the UK Government Future Fund. This enables Unwasted to fully commercialise Neverwasteᵀᴹ on a large scale, starting with a proposed full-scale plant at GreenLab Skive, in Denmark, based on pre-engineering work at the new pilot plant in Deeside.
This demonstrates commitment to Unwasted’s commercially compelling vision, and accelerates the ability to upcycle vast quantities of post-industrial and consumer waste to make premium products free from toxins that reduce carbon footprint and grow the circular economy. Neverwasteᵀᴹ panels can be re-made into new panels at end of life, many times over.
Unwasted Limited is a fast-growing company focused on technology-led solutions that re-think how we use waste to contribute to addressing our climate emergency. By upcycling and repurposing waste cardboard and packaging, the ambition is to address the global climate challenge by working both locally and at scale, with the time span of future generations in mind.
